About Houston Next Level Fitness (HNLF)
The majority owner of Houston Next Level Fitness, Cederick W. Johnson, has always been into fitness in one form or another. He played football for Rice University and upon graduation became an officer in the Houston Police Department all the while honing his workout regime.
After many years of dedicated service and promotions within HPD, he decided to take the leap and fulfill his dream of becoming a personal trainer. Ced went to work and ran the fitness program for one of Houston’s private country clubs. It was here that he envisioned a day when he would be able to create and run his own personal training gym.
In February 2002, with the support of many clients and friends who followed him to his own facility, the Next Level Fitness opened at 3811 Law St. The gym grew and thrived well in the quaint West University and the surrounding neighborhoods of River Oaks, Bellaire, and the Medical Center. It became “the local gym” in which individuals and families could work out together and attain a fitness lifestyle.
In 2015, the HNLF family grew, and Lisa Heim became a partner with Ced. Together they spearheaded a major renovation project. Upon completion, Ricky Ashton, Garry Jedkins, and Dewayne Malone were invited to join the HNLF family as junior partners. During this time, the gym’s name was changed to Houston Next Level Fitness. The gym was reborn and a new version of the dream took flight.
In February of 2022, HNLF celebrated 20 years of being one of Houston’s preeminent personal training facilities. We pride ourselves on being a well-maintained space with a safe and respected environment for those who desire to work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Our gym is known to be very family-oriented and we have seen multiple generations of families walk through our doors. We welcome all walks of life and look forward to having you become a part of the Houston Next Level Fitness family – Join Us Today!
